About the Role
As a Residential Childcare Senior Support Worker, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating home for young people aged 14–18.
You’ll support the team, supervise staff, and contribute to a positive environment where young people can thrive, develop resilience, and enjoy new experiences. Your work will directly impact their daily lives, helping them reach their full potential.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supervise and support staff, including new starters during probation
- Plan shifts and ensure smooth day-to-day running of the service
- Promote a safe, caring, and engaging environment for young people
- Establish and maintain trusting relationships with the young people
- Manage behaviour positively and assertively according to care plans
- Participate in team meetings to encourage good communication and staff development
- Conduct supervisions and identify training or development needs
- Promote, safeguard, and protect the welfare of each young person

What You’ll Need
- Over 21 years of age
- Minimum 18 months’ experience in a residential childcare setting
- Diploma or NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare
- Good standard of written and verbal English
- Calm, resilient, and caring approach
- Confidence to challenge ways of working and encourage positive outcomes
